yumm... Posted by Hello

So if you've ever wondered...

... what it looks like when you empty all the old jars that have past even the canning best-before-date out of your cupboard in preparation to leave... now you know!
The stuff in the middle is sweet pickle relish I think... and the stuff around...?

Anyway, my life is about to finally become interesting, and as mixed up as this bowl full of condiments. Hope you're all with me. The cable's cut off tomorrow, so this is it until I can get access upon arrival in Kyiv.

Stay tuned...

keeweno, keeweno, keeweno, keeweno...

...red rum!
days are passing so quickly! aargh... sooo much cleaning. I think of nothing else, but planes and sharks.

probably best not to start a list of top ten things most likely to kill me while I'm away... not a good time, you think?

Bitter Princess

So the stupid selfish thoughtless jerkfaces who're gonna live in our house next year are moving in stuff tomorrow. I will craftily be out of the house, or, failing that, out of sight, when they arrive. But the point is, yeah, tomorrow is August 15th... we leave on the 26th. That means that we have to jump around their stuff for the next 11 days before we leave. It also means, because they have requested the use of 2 bedrooms, and my parents are too nice to say no and risk the little madams' ire being taken out on their home, that I -- in my own house -- have no where to sleep, no where to keep my stuff (which by the way is only the stuff I'm taking with me in a carry-on, because SOMEONE needed all the furniture out of my room so all my stuff has been packed up, and my furniture sold off, eventhough, surprise, the house was rented as FURNISHED)... so yeah, basically, some dumb grad student has kicked me out of my home. I am homeless for a week and a half. I freakin' hate these people... and they're taking care of my dog. Anyway, my point is, they're making this whole process way harder on us than they should, we have enough to deal with without catering to their stupid ass demands on us, and I wish my parents weren't so god-damned accommodating. Also, I know I shouldn't complain about shit like this, because, shut the hell up Alexis you're a spoiled little princess about to go on world tour, but the whole thing depresses the hell out of me. Why couldn't someone elses shit be moved into my room AFTER I leave and don't have to look at it every day?
Take your own furniture and shove it, I say.

Blah.

Box-packing Blues

...how many boxes till the box you look at and say damnit box, I don' wanna pack you?
I think I've hit my limit.
I might sell my bed today... and then I'll have no where to sleep. Not that I sleep anymore anyway... maybe I'll feel better when I'm on the plane? and then everything is absolutely out of my control.

Pet insolence? Posted by Hello

New toys

So yesterday, we went out and spent buckets of cash and bought a couple digital cameras - one movie, one still.
Inspired by another blog (More Than Donuts)
I resolved to make sure the still cam was always on hand to take pictures with... but this morning I only found one subject, and she was uncharateristically unwilling to comply, as you can see.
What does it mean when even your dog won't stop making faces at you?

2 weeks, 2 days.
Cheers.

Stage 2 complete

... well actually, I don't suppose it's really like I'm doing anything in stages, just scrambling madly along to get ready, but I had to have a better title this year than last year's "A Farewell to Farms" , which was met with little more than blank stares... so much for literary reference puns, but at least my mommy thought I was clever. Anyway, yes, once again I have finished my stay with the shady government organization for whom I civilly serve. In a little less than 5.5 hours, I will turn in my security pass, and leave the place, never to return again. Which I realize is exactly what I said last year, but next year, I have oceans to impede my return to these hallowed halls (are those just for high schools?). So, you won't be seeing me around these parts again. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn, good bye...

and Cheers.
